This essay required a lot of research to understand both sides of the issue I was investigating. The beginning of the project felt like a mountain that was too big to climb. The most helpful tools were the Annotated Bibliography and the Synthesis Matrix. The first step was to gather the sources that could be potentially used in the essay and write a short blurb about how they worked with the investigation and what quotes could possibly be used. Then, once all of those sources were gathered, the Synthesis Matrix allowed a visual representation of the most important sources and how they interacted with the essay's main ideas. Each process made the unclimbable mountain smaller and smaller.
